The attorneys of the firm are members of the State Bar of Georgia, and are authorized to practice law in all courts of the State of Georgia, the Federal District Court, the Eleventh United States Circuit Court of Appeals and have been admitted pro hac vice in courts of other states.
The principal attorney of the firm, Robert G. McCurry, graduated cum laude with honors from Walter F. Georgia School of Law of Mercer University in 1991. Mr. McCurry began his legal practice with Minor, Bell, & Neal of Dalton, Georgia shortly after graduation. Mr. McCurry became a partner with the law firm of Minor, Bell and Neal in 1996. He then opened The McCurry Law Firm in 2004.
Charles William Smitherman, III, Ph.D. joined the firm in 2006. Mr. Smitherman obtained his juris doctorate degree cum laude from the University of Oxford in 2002. Mr. Smitherman subsequently obtained his Ph.D. from the University Oxford in England in May of 2006.
The firm’s paralegal is Cindy D. Kirkland who was awarded a paralegal certification from Dalton State College with honors in 2002. In May of 2011, she was awarded an Associate of Applied Science in Office and Business Technology, graduating cum laude.
Heather P Atchley is the firm’s legal secretary who attended both Young Harris College and Dalton State College. She has been with the firm since 2010.
In addition to corporate litigation, the firm actively represents companies and employee dishonesty claims, fraud and embezzlement. The firm also represents individuals in contested probate matters, medical and legal malpractice and personal injury claims.
The attorneys and staff of The McCurry Law Firm provide aggressive sophisticated representation of its clients in an effort to obtain desired goals of the client. Generally, the firm handles matters in an hourly basis plus expenses. Mr. McCurry’s hourly rate is $210 per hour, the hourly rate of Mr. Smitherman is $175 per hour, and the hourly rate of Ms. Kirkland is $90 per hour. The firm does accept representation on a flat fee basis on a case by case basis.
